Barracudas Rewards the Real Valley's Defenders

Hidalgo, Texas (January 17th, 2019) - The Rio Grande Valley is known for its rich Hispanic culture and its extensive mile long borders - the southern and most important borders of the United States of America. The official U.S. Customs and Border Protection site inclusively states that the Rio Grande Valley Sector agents patrol "over 320 river miles, 250 coastal miles and 19 counties equating to over 17,000 square miles". Why is this important? Well with the recent partial government shut down more than 3,000 Border Patrol Agents along with other personnel continue to work without pay. The Rio Grande Valley Barracudas took note and decided to do something special for the people that work so hard to keep them safe.

On January 16th, 2019 the RGV Barracudas sent out a letter to all Federal Employees and Contract Workers gifting them and any accompanying children a free entrance to their next home game Sunday, January 20th.

The letter read the following:

To Whom it may Concern,

We here are the RGV Barracudas FC want to honor all Federal Employees and Contract Workers suffering through this Government Shutdown with a FREE TICKET (as well as one to any accompanying child 13 or Under).

We would like to show our appreciation for your service, and we want to invite you to this Sunday's
(January 20th) game of the RGV Barracudas vs Monterrey Flash, at the Hidalgo State Farm Arena at 5:35 PM CT ON US!
